Sarah Heastings, Men's Head Coach

Coach Sarah is a graduate of North Allegheny Senior High School (2015) and Robert Morris University (2019). At RMU, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a concentration in Sport Communication and a minor in Sport Management.

During her tenure with North Allegheny Rowing Association, Sarah was both a four-year varsity letterman and scholar athlete. She led her crews to back-to-back Midwest victories in the WJ4+ in 2014 and 2015. In 2014, the WJ4+ went on to win a bronze medal at the SRAA National Regatta, earning the club’s first ever sweep medal at a national regatta. She served as captain during the 2014-2015 school year.

As a DI collegiate coxswain, Sarah helped the Colonials secure grand final finishes in both the 2V8+ and the V4+ at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship in 2016, 2017, and 2018. She was named a scholar athlete by RMU and the MAAC (2016-2018), as well as the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (2017-2018), before graduating Cum Laude in May 2019.

Sarah began volunteering as an assistant coach for Pine-Richland Crew during her sophomore year at Robert Morris (2016-2017) and became a full-time member of the coaching staff as a junior (2017- 2018). She began overseeing the middle school developmental team in 2020.

Sarah has also competed for Three Rivers Rowing Association as part of their master’s program. She has helped TRRA earn numerous medals, including a gold medal in the master’s mixed 4+ at the Master’s National Regatta in 2016 in Wooster, MA.
